Rochester, NY --- Yasmeen Gumbs-Breakenridge, an Attorney from Long Island City is the new Mrs. New York America. Ceremonies took place via a virtual pageant on July 19, 2020.
“What a dream come true. I am truly blessed to have the honor of being named Mrs. New York America,” exclaimed Gumbs-Breakenridge. Gumbs-Breakenridge was born in the Virgin Islands and relocated to New York City at young age with her family. She attended college on a Division I Track & Field Scholarship and attended law school in Virginia. In winning the title, new “Mrs. New York America” Yasmeen Gumbs-Breakenridge receives an all expenses paid trip to compete for the title of MRS. The original “Mrs. America” event (which began in 1938) was reorganized in 1977 by David Marmel to feature a more contemporary format designed to attract married women.
