Mrs. Gumbs-Breakenridge was born on the beautiful island of St. Thomas, United States Virgin Island and raised in New York City. Growing up in New York City, Mrs. Gumbs-Breakenridge developed the grit, which contributed to the hardworking academic achiever, and successful litigator she is today.
Beating the odds, Mrs. Gumbs-Breakenridge attended college on a Division I Track and Field scholarship. She was a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Leadership Conference finalist and Sunbelt Conference Track & Field finalist in the 100 meter dash. Mrs. Gumbs-Breakenridge furthered her education by attending law school in Virginia. She was Who’s Who Among Law School Students.
Mrs. Gumbs-Breakenridge is a seasoned successful commercial litigator and has defended million dollar lawsuits against corporations. She is a member of the New York State Bar and a 2016 American Bar Association Law School Division National Appellate Advocacy Competition Judge.
Mrs. Gumbs-Breakenridge is the reigning Mrs. New York Earth USA 2019. She formally held the title of Mrs. New York United States 2018. Mrs. Gumbs-Breakenridge will go on to compete for the prestigious national title of Mrs. USA 2019 in Washington, District of Columbia on August 11, 2019.
During her reign, Mrs. Gumbs-Breakenridge will advocate for environmental sustainability by partnering with organizations to further the goal of increasing farming within low income neighborhoods. She will also continue her partnership with the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club as a Madison Council Member.
