Background:
Yasmeen was born on the beautiful island of St. Thomas, United States Virgin Island. At a young age, she relocated from St. Thomas to New York City with her family. Growing up in New York City, Yasmeen developed the grit, which contributed to the hardworking academic achiever, successful litigator, operations manager and philanthropist she is today. Beating the odds, she attended college on a Division I Track & Field Scholarship. Yasmeen is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Leadership recipient and Sunbelt Conference Track & Field finalist in the 100-meter dash, 4x200 and 4x400 meter relays. She furthered her education by attending law school in Virginia. Yasmeen was recognized as Who’s Who Among Law School Students, Vice President of the Black Law School Association and winner of the Appellate Advocacy Competition.
Legal Career:
Yasmeen's background consists of litigation in both Federal and State Courts in addition to legal operations. She is the CEO of her own Consultant Company. Yasmeen is admitted to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, New York State Bar, United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York. She also volunteers her time as an American Bar Association Law School Division National Appellate Advocacy Competition Judge. The American Bar Association recognized Yasmeen for her contribution the practice of law and being crowned Mrs. New York America 2020.
Beauty Queen:
On July 19, 2020, Yasmeen successfully captured the prestigious title of Mrs. New York America 2020! She is the second African American Woman to be crowned Mrs. New York America 2020 since 1977 when the Mrs. America Pageant system was established.
The Mrs. New York America Pageant is the preliminary competition to the Mrs. America Pageant. Yasmeen represented the state of New York at Mrs. America on March 19, 2021 through March 28, 2021. She placed top 15 out of 51 contestants!
Philanthropy:
Yasmeen is passionate about the Salvation Army's mission. She believes in the work and the communities who benefit from the organization. Yasmeen sit on the board of the Salvation Army of Greater New York Harlem Division where she is a strong and effective contributor and leader. Yasmeen help steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting ethical and legal governance as well as by making sure the nonprofit has adequate resources to advance its mission. She is also a mentor with the Salvation Army Youth Division and partnered for the “Camp in a Box” and the “Back-To-School Campaign.”
Yasmeen has a long standing partnership with Madison Square Boys & Girls Club, where she serves as a Council Member, volunteer and mentor. “The Madison Square Boys & Girls Club provides after-school and summer youth development programming to young people between the ages of 6-18 in under-resources neighborhoods in New York City.” As a Council Member, she dedicates her time and talents to positively impact the lives of over 5,000 New York City youth. Yasmeen is actively involved in raising awareness; serving as a Madison ambassador, direct contributor and attendee to fundraising events.
Through her platform #ConfidenceComesFromWithin, she commits to dedicating her time to serve the great state of New York and the United States Virgin Islands. Sharing her personal story continues to have a direct positive impact on the future of many inner city youths and women experiencing economic hardships and homelessness. As a result of her commitment to serving the state and tremendous impact, the governor has recognized her contribution to the community. Yasmeen feels blessed for the opportunity to serve as Mrs. New York America 2020, because it gave her a larger platform to advocate for a cause that she is passionate about.

Yasmeen is an agency represented model, featured in numerous magazines and graced the runways during Paris & New York Fashion Weeks.
